I am an artist and photographer whose work explores the space between observation and imagination. Drawn to light, color, texture, form, and the unexpected details of the everyday, I use photography to transform what I see into something more ambiguous and open to interpretation. My images are less about
documenting a particular place or moment than about creating a visual experience — inviting the viewer to pause, look closely, and discover something beyond the immediately recognizable.

With a foundation in fine art and photojournalism, I bring both a painterly sensitivity and an instinct for finding meaning in the world around me. After earning my BFA in Photography from the University of Colorado at Boulder, I continued my studies at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. My years as a staff photographer for the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press deepened my understanding of light, composition, timing, and visual storytelling, while also teaching me to look closely and respond intuitively to what unfolds in front of the camera.

Based in Brooklyn since 1997, I continue to explore photography as a way of seeing — finding beauty, mystery, and abstraction in the familiar and creating images that exist somewhere between the observed and the imagined.
